This performance is then followed up by workshops in which the ‘audience’ develop their owns skills. These are suitable for schools and festivals Currently touring : ‘The Song of the Working Child’ A children/family performance of traditional songs, music and dance that explores life for working children in the 19th Century Covering the period from Queen Victoria’s coronation to her death, The song of the Working child consists of Victorian folk songs and music, eye-witness accounts and commentaries, role play and clog dancing. It is sometimes shocking, often moving, highly informative and always thoroughly entertaining. During the performance photographs and other images of the times are projected to illustrate what is being done and said. After the performance we can offer participatory workshops in singing and song writing. Leaflets available - contact us “What a refreshing change. I loved History
Folk . The singing was really good. It was nice to be able to go
to something that both the children and
grown ups could enjoy!”
‘The West Country Year in song, music, dance & drama.’ Initially to be devised for schools, this performance will look at some of the major West Country Traditional events. Unusually we will be running workshops beforehand so that pupils can take part in the performance itself. Contact us if you would like to know more
